Communities of Practice Call – Shifting Red Flag Framework to Enhance Training and Partnerships (Part 2)

Feb 28

Event date: February 28 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Description: Red flags have been used as a focal point when training partners and community members. However, by using this approach we are equipping our audience with information that does not translate to the reality of human trafficking, ensure that we are reaching all those in need of services, or lead to actionable steps individuals can take to address this issue in their communities. The focus of this discussion will address questions such as: What can the red flag shift look like in trainings? What can it mean for programs changes both short and long term? How can your agency implement this shift in training so that partners are on board and able to assist in the change?

In this CoP, we will:

  • Discuss new approaches of explaining the context of human trafficking.
  • Identify new pathways to explain multiple forms of justice and healing available for survivors in your community.
  • Share strategies to reduce the impact of secondary trauma often experienced by providers by expanding how we frame and navigate responses to human trafficking.

Who Should Attend: OVC-funded program staff of all levels; especially those who support/supervise training for staff and partners and oversee client screening processes
